Title:Why Should I Sell On Amazon
Amazon is officially declared the biggest online retailer in the world. The founder and CEO of Amazon Jeff Bezos. In 2016 Forbes Rich List Bezos was ranked the 3rd richest person in the world with an estimated wealth of $66.7 billion.
Let me put this into perspective.
A million seconds ago was 12 days ago. A billion seconds ago was 32 years ago.
Yes. That is a difference between $1 million and $1 billion. Amazon has generated a huge percentage of that wealth, hence making it one of the best places to begin a retail business.
In order to sell on Amazon you will need:
- A company with a registered name and a registration number. You will get these by registering your company through Companies House(British).
- A Business Bank Account. This can be set up through your local bank
- Physical product.
Why Is Selling on Amazon Beneficial.
As we know from what was mentioned above. Amazon is the biggest retailer in the world with most people turning to Amazon to find what it is they’re looking for. This means there is so much potential for a new or existing company to get their product noticed. Its an Amazon platform with huge room for growth.
Your supplier will ship your product directly to Amazon FBA (which is basically Amazon’s warehouse). This benefits you because you don’t actually handle the product. It gets sourced from the supplier who then privately labels it(this depends on your product and whether you require private labelling).
The supplier then sends it directly to Amazon and then Amazon distributes it when a customer purchases it online.
Not many retailers provide this service so for a new company starting in online retail this is a definite plus.
Amazon sellers have a ‘platform’ where they can measure their daily, weekly, monthly sales.
Any problems a customer experiences with your product will appear in your ‘platform’ which lets you answer those queries effectively. Amazon also gets notified and can help you resolve the issues. This is great for any new company because it allows you to actively monitor your product and learn from any mistakes you may find along the way.
Amazon gives you freedom to live a life that isn’t directly involved with the day-to-day sales. By this I mean everything is taken care of by Amazon. Your only need is monitor the sales, re-stock and the reviews and note the areas in which you need to improve.
Amazon allows you, as a seller, to launch new products very easily, efficiently and effectively. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve been selling for a day, ten days or ten years there is never a time limit to launch new products with Amazon. The first product set up is the same as the 10th product set up etc. It’s really that easy
This is more aimed at the suppliers. The start of the Amazon set up is affordable due to the fact that many suppliers require a small minimum order quantity.
It is also affordable to sell on Amazon as Amazon fees are automatically deducted from each sale so you never have to worry about a lump sum being taken from your bank. It is surprising at how beneficial this process is! It means less worrying for your accountant and more productivity for you!
Knowing the review process can almost guarantee you sales. The more reviews you receive on your product the more highly ranked your product will become in Amazon.Youre not talking thousands of reviews either.
Imagine your product is hair extensions. You are on the 50th page of the hair extensions sector. You have 1 review at this point. You start gaining reviews and by the 59th review your page has now ranked to number 3 in the hair extension sector. Your product is going to sell a huge amount more this way because it is easier to find due to the higher ranking.
Why should I sell on Amazon? You should sell based purely on this reason alone!
